Design is the single most important, yet overlooked step in construction. Starting with a design helps narrow in budgets and reduce costly construction surprises that were not accounted for initially. When you have a design, a contractor can easily see the scope of work needed to complete your project, eliminating the discrepancy between the homeowners vision and the contractors vision. It also helps to uphold accountability for the contractors, trades and the homeowner who all take part in executing the design and build.
The design build portion of our process is a full turn-key option great for clients who are looking at one stop shopping.
This includes an initial design consultation and a second meeting to review the designs to finalize your perfect plan. You will then get access to the 3D rendering you and your designer have come up with. After the design consultation you will meet the designer at a designated showroom to finalize your selections such as tile, cabinets, lighting, flooring, and countertops to name a few. After you have determined which products are finishing out your space, your designer will begin working on a full set of construction documents.
These document include a noted plan used for permitting, elevations of critical design elements and 3D images for reference. Every detail included in your design is listed so our team of trades knows exactly how to execute your project.
At this point you will be provided with a final bid and an established start date for your project. A pre-construnction meeting will be set and permits will be pulled by your project manager.
Now all you have to do is sit back, relax and wait for your new space!
Our Design Only phase is for our DIY clients who need plans or want to see their project visually in 3D. This is also used for our clients who may already have a contractor to build their space or need a single design to bid out to multiple contractors.
The first step of this phase begins with an initial meeting at your home between you and your designer. The designer will discuss all elements you wish to include in your project, take measurements and set the date for your secondary design consultation.
The design consultation, or second meeting, will also take place at your home. This meeting is the most exciting step in our process because your designer will show you 2 different design options in 3D. You will walk through both floor plans visually with your designer, identify your preferred layout then collaborate to make sure we have captured all the unique design elements that make this space suit you.
Once you have your single design selected and finalized, we will begin working on a full set of construction documents. These document include a noted plan used for permitting, elevations of critical design elements and 3D images for reference. A selections meeting can also be set so all elements are ready for accurate bidding and construction. Every detail included in your design is listed so your contractor knows exactly how to execute your project.
